We’ve already told you about the most famous spritz cocktails in all the land, so now it’s time to share some lesser known ones that are just as good, and dare we say even better.
First, there’s the good old Hugo Spritz. This summertime (and wintertime too) drink originated in South Tyrol but is also popular in Triveneto, Austria, Switzerland and Germany. You’ll also find that this is a popular treat when you’re hanging out in the Dolomites but of course you can find it here in Roma as well.
Unlike the Campari and Aperol spritz that sport pretty vibrant hues. This spritz is is much later due to it’s prosecco and elderflower base. Check out the recipe below.
6 cl prosecco
2 cl Mixybar Elder flowers
6 cl soda water
Pour the ingredients into a wine glass filled with ice and mix gently. Decorate with mint sprout and slice of red apple
Next up is our very own Rome Story Spritz! Since we’re fans of mixing things up, we took our own spin on the classic spritz and created our own. In this recipe, instead of Campari, we added Galliano as our base. It’s a sweet herbal liquor with strong vanilla notes. Perfect for anyone who doesn’t enjoy the bitterness of a traditional spritz. We kept the recipe simple for this one, so give it a spin when you’re at home.

2 ounces Prosecco or other sparkling wine
1 ounce club soda
2 ounces Galliano

Fill rocks glass with ice. Add sparkling wine, club soda, and Galliano. Stir gently. Garnish with orange.
